Monte City Council Member Salzer Resigns

Montesano Council Member Marisa Salzer has resigned. She submitted her resignation to the city on Tuesday, March 10, effective that date.

Salzer was sworn in to council position #2 in 2013. She ran unopposed. Her tenure has been rocky. She worked at The Vidette for five years.

Salzer’s resignation letter, obtained by public record request, appears below.

At this evening’s council meeting Mayor Estes said he was “disappointed and a little upset” by the resignation. He also said Salzer’s letter “contained many inaccuracies” and troubling statements. A response from the city is forthcoming. Other council members expressed surprise at Salzer’s resignation. Council member Tyler Trimble was absent.
