Remember that saying about putting lipstick on a pig? Well, I heard something from Rep. Kevin Van de Wege on last night’s tele town hall that made me want to grab a tube of Revlon.
While bemoaning the need for increased “revenue” (that’s code for “taxes”) in order to comply with the McCleary decision, Van de Wege said this:
“We want to raise taxes on those who can afford to pay it.”
He didn’t quite get around to specifying who might fall into that category or who makes that determination. Presumably, it’s anyone who makes a dollar more than you do.
Don’t be too hard on the good representative. He’s simply evidencing the DemoLib mindset: ‘Your earnings, income and your money aren’t yours, they’re ours. Your bucks aren’t yours, they belong to the government. You have mere cu$tody. Title belongs to us. So fork it over. After all, we’re from the government and we’re here to help. We also know how to spend your dough waaaay better than you do, you peons, you.’
Anybody got a spare tube of Bobbi Brown Creamy Matte?
