If you’ve been with us for more than a nano second or so, you’ve probably figured out that Friday Fun is one of our most popular features. You’ve also probably figured out that FF posts tend to be… um… a little cheekier than others. That probably puts us just shy of the second star to the right. But who’s counting? (If you didn’t get that, kindly consult J.M. Barrie.)
If you’re really quick on the uptake, you may have also noticed that we like to feature a little music here and there on Friday Fun. Why? Simple. Because with all the mayhem and madness going on around us these days (hi, Olympia and D.C. and all points in between), it’s easy to lose sight of what’s beautiful, upbeat, and uplifting. Like Home. Phillip Phillips reminds us (betcha can’t listen sitting down):
Settle down, it’ll all be clear
Don’t pay no mind to the demons
They fill you with fear
The trouble it might drag you down
If you get lost, you can always be found.
Just know you’re not alone
‘Cause I’m going to make this place your home.
If Phillip Phillips isn’t your cup of sunshine, count your blessings. I was going to feature Pavarotti. (You can thank me later.) On the other hand, if you haven’t heard Puccini sung by a world-class Italian tenor, where have you been?! Wait a sec. I feel a Bocelli moment coming on. If “Bocelli” doesn’t ring a bell, you’re lookin’ at some serious catchin’ up. Plan on staying after class for awhile.
In the meantime, have a great weekend!
