Look! Another Republican has thrown his hat into the presidential ring.
Yep. New Jersey Governor Chris Christie is joining 4,978 other GOP candidates and making a run for the White House. His official announcement speech is expected to take place today at his former high school, without the aid of a teleprompter.
It does not appear that the multitudes have been waiting for said announcement with bated breath. But you gotta give the plain-spoken gov some credit. His announcement vid, Telling It Like It Is, is probably the best of the bunch thus far.
The two-minute video is vintage Christie. He looks good. He sounds good. He’s a long shot for the White House and may find it tough to recover from the Obama hug-fest following Hurricane Sandy. Ditto Bridgegate. And that uninspiring keynote speech at the 2012 Republican National Convention. He’s also not particularly popular in the Garden State right now.
Even so, competitors might want to take a look at Telling It Like It Is. It’s fresh. It’s warm. It’s original. Christie talks from the heart. He projects as a Real Person instead of a cardboard cut-out. Like the current occupant of the Oval Office. I’m not necessarily a big fan of this big guy, but the guv is good here:
Can you see Christie on a debate stage duking it out with The Jebster or The Donald? I’ll start the popcorn.
