5 REAL Reasons Democrats Oppose Brett Kavanaugh

Dontcha love the smell of Democrat meltdowns in the morning? Why, the hysterics and histrionics Democrats and their ideological soul mates are launching at Brett Kavanaugh are priceless. I haven’t had this much fun since Lucy and Ethel and:

Indeed, the Dem meltdown over Brett Kavanaugh says more about Dems than it does the high court nominee*. As usual, the Leftista rule of thumb regarding any Republican nominee to the U.S. Supreme Court goes like:

Forget Kavanaugh’s credentials. His experience. The fact that he’s a former clerk for Justice Kennedy, whom Democrats praised as a champion of civil rights, women’s rights and pretty much everything else up until Monday. No. The Left’s mind-numbing fill-in-the-blank opposition to Kavanaugh boils down to five things:

  1. He’s not a lib judicial activist like those nominated by Trump’s immediate predecessor. (Dems were for legislating from the bench before they were against it. Go figure.)
  2. Kavanaugh apparently knows the difference between – gasp! – interpreting the law as written and legislating from the bench. (Oh, the horror!)
  3. He was nominated by Donald Trump.
  4. He was nominated by Donald Trump.
  5. He was nominated… oh, never mind.

Let’s not forget Imminent Armageddon, End-of-the-World fund-raising pitches. Like this one (partial). Just arrived in my in box from Tom Perez:

Last night, Donald Trump announced Brett Kavanaugh as his nominee for the Supreme Court. Let’s get one thing straight:

Already this year, the conservative majority on the Supreme Court sanctioned attacks on workers’ rights, further threatened a woman’s right to choose, upheld the discriminatory Muslim ban, and supported voter suppression efforts in Ohio — and that was before Justice Kennedy stepped down. So you better believe that with Brett Kavanaugh on the bench, Roe v. Wade, affordable health care, labor unions, and civil rights will all be on the chopping block.

Regaining a Democratic majority in the Senate is the best way to keep Trump from appointing more far-right conservatives to the Supreme Court. There’s never been a more important time to show you stand with Democrats.

Make a $3 contribution to help take back the Senate and elect Democrats who will fight for the fundamental rights of all Americans:

Oh, boo-hoo. Scare mongering much?

Contrast that with Team Cruz’s email on the nomination (partial). Also just arrived in my in box (about half as long as Perez’s pontification, if you’re keeping track.):

Last night we learned that President Trump has nominated Judge Brett Kavanaugh to replace Justice Kennedy on the Supreme Court.

Ted responded saying:

For over a decade, Judge Kavanaugh has served on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit, often referred to as the second highest court in the land. He has over 300 published opinions, with a strong record of defending the Second Amendment, safeguarding the separation of powers, reining in the unchecked power of federal agencies, and preserving our precious religious liberties.

No wonder Dems are freaking out. Cooler heads embracing constitutional fidelity and the rule of law, not so much.

Careful, Kavanaugh. Sen. Spreading the Bull is on the war path.

Well. I have a long memory. I remember what Democrats and their ideological lackeys tried to do to eminently qualified high court nominees who committed the heinous crime of strict interpretivism.

I remember when “Borkbecame a verb. (I read The Tempting of America.  It’s a classic.) I also remember the attempted “high tech lynching” of Clarence Thomas. I remember which party turned confirmation hearings into a circus act.

Democrats take a break from caucusing on Kavanaugh to pose for a group photo.

Yea, verily. The blue side of the aisle has been rolling out this kind of crap for 30+ years. (Did Cory Prez Wannabe Booker not get that memo?)

Meanwhile:

  • Senate opponents of the Supreme Court nominee, all Democrats, say he would vote to overturn Roe vs. Wade.
  • Other groups opposing the nomination include gay and lesbian activists, representatives of the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund, and the NAACP.
  • “Women’s rights” groups lining up to “strongly oppose” the nominee include the National Organization for Women, Planned Parenthood Federation and the National Abortion Rights Action League.

Except for one thing. The nominee in question per the above wasn’t Brett Kavanaugh. It was 1990. And Leftistas were shilling against G.W. Bush appointee David Souter.

Talk about a “one trick pony.” You’d think Leftistas would at least come up with something original this time around.

Sane Person’s Rule of Thumb: The louder the Left’s caterwauling, the better the nominee. The more shrill, the more solid.

So remember, Dems & Co.: This is your last chance. If one piece of candy gets past you and into the packing room unwrapped….**
